Rotary Concert

Thank you very much to everyone for their efforts in making our Cantarla and Jazz Band concert for Pickering and District Rotary Club a success. We had a great audience, and both ensembles performed well, with a mixture of new repertoire learned since the start of term, and old favourites. The Agnus Dei from Bob Chilcott's Jazz Mass, a tricky movement to perform because of the free rhythmic style and overlapping parts, was beautifully sung, and the band's programme included a first - a composition for the band by a pupil, Alex Richards, in Year 11. It, along with the rest of the programme was well performed too.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Pearl of Africa Children's Choir, and some photos of the evening will follow soon too.
